What is a Raspberry Pi

The uses of a Raspberry Pi are endless. There are a range of add-on boards and components that can be used with the Raspberry Pi. If you have an idea and you get the required add-ons and you can code it, it’s possible. A few common uses for a raspberry pi are:

  • Home automation

Basic Hardware Requirements

To get started with your Raspberry Pi projects, there are a few things you will need:

  • A Raspberry Pi
  • A power supply (recommended 5V) and cable
  • A MicroSD card (recommended 16GB)
  • An adapter to connect your MicroSD card to your PC

In addition to the hardware requirements, you will also need the following in terms of software:

Raspberry Pi Imager is the easiest way to flash RaspberryOS or other operating systems the your MicroSD card. Note that when installing the OS, the contents of your MicroSD card will be erased.
